Election of Committee Members

Following a call for applications for vacancies within the committee, nominees must have a current individual full membership of the society, and be in  a role that has a direct influence with in vascular nursing and the care of vascular patients. Nominees will also need confirmed support of their manager prior to application. Nominations for vacant positions on the committee must be received at least 3 months prior to the AGM unless in exceptional circumstances. Nominees will need to be proposed by an SVN member, and each  nomination will be seconded by the committee, which will take place  at the  committee meeting in SeptemberNominees will be elected at the AGM held during the annual conference. When there is more than one applicant for a committee vacancy, voting will take place with a show of hands at the AGM.  Committee vacancies will be advertised on the website as well as within the Vascular Matters newsletter, 4 months before the election is due to take place at the AGM.

  • Memberships
  • Education
  • Legs Matter Lead
  • Social Media Lead

Committee Affiliations

The society has affiliations with other societies/committees, and committee roles may include affiliations with such organisations.  Currently these are:

  • The Vascular Society
  • The Circulation Foundation
  • The Venous Forum

Committee Meetings

There are four committee meetings a year, with at least two being face to face and the remainder over Teams. It is expected that members attend at least three each year. There is also an AGM at the yearly conference.

Committee Member Responsibilities

Each committee member will have at least one committee role; and may also be affiliated to another society/committee with an expectation to provide communication back to the committee. The committee member is expected to provide a verbal report at each meeting to give feedback on any developments within their role, as well as use email communication between each meeting to keep the rest of the committee abreast with any developments. During the planning of the conference, not only would it be expected that committee members attend, but on the day committee members may be supporting the chairing of symposiums, and helping with the smooth running of the day. Some members may also put themselves forward to present talks on the day.
