SVN Bursaries
All nurses with full SVN membership of more than 3 months can apply for a bursary. The SVN have now simplified the process of applying for bursaries, and more than ever, our priority is to support our members in their endeavours to advance the care of patients with vascular disease.
We have combined our previous bursaries with the Emma’s Gift Bursary into ‘one type’ to enable the SVN to award all our bursaries in the memory of Emma Bond.

Emma Bond was an inspirational vascular nurse and a valued member of the SVN committee, as well as a past president. In 2018, Emma was the recipient of the Services to Vascular Nursing award, which included a lifetime free entry to the SVN conference.
Emma sadly passed away in 2019 and prior to her death, Emma wished for her free entry to the SVN conference to be donated, as part of her legacy, to nurses at the start of their vascular career, which led to the creation of the ‘Emma’s Gift’ bursary
The Emma Bond Bursaries comprise:
- Up to 5 bursaries of up to £1,000 per year depending on the availability of funds and following the decision of the committee.
- The committee can agree to award more bursaries depending available funds
- Bursaries can be used for conference attendance, courses and educational endeavours
